This character ended up not having much of a purpose. I created him for a roleplay I was going to do with a friend, but we stopped halfway through. I took the opportunity to experiment with a set of new Copic markers I bought about a month ago. During the time I was creating him, I was reading The Demon Ororon by Hakase Muzuki. I really love her art style because of its uniqueness, so I wanted to draw something similar to that style. I based Salem off of Shiro, a demon cat and my favorite character in the series.

I didn't do a very good job at the coloring portion, but I was trying to get a basic idea of how the markers function. I liked the line art better than the finished picture, especially when it came to his hair. I'm tempted to draw another character using the same hair technique. I realize the body proportioning is off, but that was the number of heads the style used so the body looks longer than it normally is. It's a pity I wasn't able to use him for something more useful.
