Nate (older)

As some may remember, this is my original character Nate. I roleplayed him again when he was seventeen and I felt the urge to draw him.

I had the pose I wanted firmly set in mind, but because I stubbornly refused to draw him any other way, I went through a small stack of paper trying to sketch him in the pose correctly. I had originally planned to color the picture in Photoshop and I wanted the colors to be soft and pastel-like. I left the line art in pencil then because I had discovered I liked leaving my line arts in pencil rather than struggling to ink them. I am also able to keep more detail and allow the lines to feel more natural. I also do not run the risk of messing up my sketch and having to trace over it again. *laughs* The effect was the same in the end. Sadly I forgot to finish the piece after I filled in the base colors and I didn't have the heart to complete it. But I liked what I had anyway. I'm especially pleased with how I captured the dreamy, pensive look on his face.
