I was in Taco Bell one day and drew a quick sketch of Gaara in modern clothing in the sketchbook I brought along with me. I liked it enough to scan it to my computer and color it in Photoshop. This was my third experiment actually using Photoshop since my brother got it for me recently (I've had it for a while now *laughs*). I learned quite a bit coloring this piece, and that knowledge has come in handy for me nowadays.

I probably should have made the line art a darker shade of red along with his hair. His body is out of proportion with his head by quite a large amount. The hand would have been fine if I had drawn the fingers closer together. It makes it look like he is missing a finger. *laughs* I can't critique myself much on the shading, especially the clothing, since I was trying to get used to the program. I know now there should be much more contrast between the highlights, midtones, and shadows. The wrinkles in the clothing should be placed differently and blended a little smoother. The only thing I'm really pleased with is the background. I used a lot of layers of images to make it turn out the way it is and I love the end result.
