I was going through a rough time in my life, and I was in a state of despair when I drew this. I'm not the type of person to carry through with suicide, but I desperately wanted to do something to make an impression on both me and everyone else. So I chose to do so through my art, and I definitely made my point across with the people who had affected me. In a way, I describe this as my committing suicide and it helped to relieve me in a strange way. The lyrics and title are from the song Breathe No More by Evanescence. I found the lyrics very powerful in this instance and used it as my inspiration to draw this. The first of its kind that I have drawn in the macabre genre.

I have never been good at drawing blood *laughs*, but I did spend most of my time looking up some rather gruesome pictures to help with reference. I think, in the end I made it flow realistically enough to be convincing. I don't like how I inked the outline of the blood though. It might have looked better if I had only used the colored pencil and made it more subtle. I really like the blood on her shirt however. The glass could have been worked on a little more too...and the wrinkles in the clothes don't set well with me. But I wasn't concerned about those issues when I drew this, but I'm pleased with the overall result. It was very emotional and shocking, which is what I was aiming for.
